Workshops

As an artist with years of experience, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and techniques. My courses are reasonably priced, and typically include most of the materials required.

Drop me an email if there is something in particular that you are interested in learning.

I am on hiatus from teaching workshops as I have too many other commitments at this time.

Sashay! Crossbody Felted Pouch.              Beginner's intro to Felting. Try it out!

Create a simple flap pouch for your cell phone, eyeglasses or mad money! In this 3-4 hour class you will "get your hands wet", literally, learning this simple, fun wet felting process. All supplies will be provided. A minimum of 2 participants are needed to scedule a class. Please contact me if you are interested. The workshop fee is $40. Classes are being scheduled for May.

Garment Making from A to Z

In this 4-5 day workshop you will be walked through the intensive knowledge of creating a reversible nuno felted garment. We will start by hand dying our fabric with a simple but effective dying technique. Then, move on to creating a custom pattern utilizing a determined shrinkage quotient, through layout considering the reversible aspect, construction, the felting and fulling process, and ending with how to get a custom fit.

The Gentle Roller machine will be available to help revieve you of some of the backbreaking rolling.

This class is offered to intermediate felt makers who know the basics of drafting wool, felting and fulling.

Class dates are being scheduled in July and/or September. Class fee is $350 plus materials. Please contact me if you you like your name to be put on an "interested" list to hold you a spot (no commitment or downpayment at this time).

Nuno Felting

I will teach a workshop on nuno felting at a time scheduled that is convenient to both the students and myself. The class runs approximately 5-6 hours. You will learn the process of nuno felting while also learning about the types and quality of wool, what fabrics lend themselves to this process and what embellishments can be added. The student will complete a scarf to adorn themselves. A minimum of 2 participants are needed to scedule a class. I will provide the majority of the supplies (inc wool & silk) needed. Please contact me if you are interested. The workshop fee is $125.

Not in the area? My friend Terri Pike has a wonderful website with how-to videos at www.feltinglessons.com.
